Andrea Sims
first-last at northwestern.edu

I am a Mellon Postdoctoral Fellow in the Linguistics Department at Northwestern University. I started here in the fall of 2006, after I finished my Ph.D. at Ohio State University.

My research interests include synchronic and diachronic morphology, inflectional defectiveness, paradigmatic structure, and dialect contact. I work primarily on Croatian, Russian, and Modern Greek. Most recently, I have been learning about agent-based modeling.

My teaching interests include morphological theory, the structure and history of the Slavic languages, language and identity (esp. gendered language), and the sociology of language.

Non-academically, I am mostly interested in cooking, photography, pinball, and scooters.
